Following the success of its six previous "Doctor Who" novels, BBC Books will release the latest batch next week to coincide with the start of the new 13-part series of the show, featuring the 10th Doctor, David Tennant. The three books--The Feast of the Drowned by Stephen Cole; The Resurrection Casket by Justin Richards; and The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner--are due out on 13th April.
The BBC is going into overdrive for the programme's return, expected to be on Easter Sunday, with the launch of a new media experience. Alongside the new series, it has produced 13 "Tardisodes": 60-second mini-episodes for viewers to download via mobile phones or broadband.
They are part of the BBC's trials exploring ways of broadening the output of leading brands, and will offer the audience an insight into that week's "Doctor Who" storyline. Jana Bennett, BBC director of television, said: "We know there is a huge appetite for 'Doctor Who', and we want to make the whole experience bigger and better for viewers."
