NEW Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has said there will be no flirting between the Time Lord and his young companion. The 56-year-old, pictured, makes his debut in the series next month alongside Jenna Coleman, 28, who returns as Clara. Capaldi felt the romantic undertones that have characterised recent Doctor-companion relationships, such as that between David Tennant's Doctor and Billie Piper's Rose, would no longer be appropriate.
'There will be no flirting, that's for sure,' he told The Sunday Times. 'It's not what this Doctor's concerned with. I did call and say, "I want no Papa-Nicole moments".' That refers to the ambiguous relationship between in older man and a younger woman in the 1990s Renault Clio adverts.
