Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman has told of her experiences with working with the new Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi.
Capaldi, who is best known for his role as Malcolm Tucker in the political comedy The Thick Of It, took over from Matt Smith to become the 12th Doctor.
Compared with Smith's previous Doctor, Capaldi's lead character is "a lot ...fiercer," said Coleman, who plays his travelling companion, Clara Oswald.
"This man is a total adrenaline junkie," she adds.
Capaldi's first full-length episode - Deep Breath - is set in Victorian England and promises the return of the so-called Paternoster Gang, a trio of detectives made up of the domeheaded alien Strax (Dan Starkey), the Silurian Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh), and her human wife, Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart). Steven Moffat, who penned the first episode, also revealed what the premiere would be like. He said: "It's a big introduction, he's the new Doctor.
"There's no point pretending that it's not the most interesting, dynamic thing that you've got to sell in that first episode.
"It's going to be about 'What's he like? How's he different?' I suppose it feels a bit like a character piece, but there's plenty of action and nonsense and jeopardy, as there ever is in Doctor Who."
Meanwhile, it was revealed " this week that Doctor Who scripts have leaked online almost two months before the series eight premiere.
The BBC has asked fans not to share the leaked information for the newest Doctor Who series with ...ve scripts being leaked online.
The new series is due to start on August 23.
Contributing writer, and Sherlock co-creator, Mark Gatiss, tweeted his disappointment at the leak, while BBC Worldwide, the corporation's global arm, said: "We deeply regret this and apologise to all the show's fans, the BBC and the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly making the series.
"We would like to make a plea to anyone who might have any of this material and spoil ers associated with it not to share it with a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the show as it should be seen when it launches.
"We know only too well that Doctor Who fans are the best in the world and we thank them for their help with this and their continued loyalty."
