BBC Choice has lined up a week of programmes to mark the 35th anniversary of Doctor Who. The Take on Doctor Who (7.00pm) is a four-hour slot, introduced by the seventh doctor Sylvester McCoy, that begins with an originally untransmitted pilot episode with William Hartnell. There follows an episode from the series voted the best-ever by fans of the good doctor. in which Tom Baker takes on the Daleks in 1975. And there is also a glimpse of what goes on at a fan convention - yes, there really are people who behave like this.
On Thursday, Choice screens the longest-ever episode, Trial of a Time Lord (9.00pm), with Colin Baker.
