VIEWERS will have the chance to see a lot of actress Pamela Stephenson in BBC TV's autumn and winter programmes.

The blonde Australian comedienne will be starring in her own series called Stephen-son's Rock on BBC-2. She will also be appearing in a new series of Not the Nine O'Clock News.

And a new seven-part series starting next month called Behind the Scenes beeins with a profile of Miss Stephenson.

Other new productions from the BBC's light entertainments department include Richard Stilgo's Kick Up The 80s on BBC 2 and a new Kenny Everett show.

The £2.500,000 production of the Borgias — the most expensive series to be produced by the BBC — gets underway in October on BBC-2.

Among 20 new drama offerings are a six-part dramatisation of John Wyndham's science fiction thriller The Day of the Triffids; a four-part serialisation of Fanny by Gaslight, and later on in the winter months is a series entitled County Hall which looks at life of a young politician.

A major drama series about Britain's first woman MP to take her seat, Nancy Astor, will also be screened later in the winter.

Old favourites returning to the screens include the hospital drama, Angels; Larry Grayson's Generation Game; Terry Wogan's Blankety-Blank and a new series with Michael Parkinson.

Penelope Keith stars in a new run of To The Manor Born.

For sports fans. Match of the Day will be back in its old Saturday spot.
