[edit]

THE BBC scenery department strike, which disrupted TV programmes for a week, ended yesterday. Weekend programmes like The Two Ronnies, The Des O'Connor Show, Grandstand, and Parkinson will now go ahead as planned. But planned episodes of Dr. Who and the series on the life of the Borgias will have to be recorded later--and yesterday two more editions of the children's programme Jackanory were lost.
