I've got bad news for Dr Who. He didn't get rid of all the Daleks in his annihilation campaign on BBC television last Saturday. Two of them escaped
And they turned up today at Olympia—face to face with Dr Who's grand-daughter actress Carole Ann Ford.
At a safe distance. and with a barrier of children between Miss Ford screwed up her face and wiled her fingers at the Deleks.
It's all good fun really The Daleks are tame types operating for the entertainment of children at this year's Schoolboys and Girls Exhibition at Olympia sponsored by the Daly Mail.
A rush
But even in fun the effect of the Daleks on little girls can easily be seen Every time the dreaded ray gun was pointed at them there were loud screams and a rush away from the outer space creature.
They are probably the biggest draw at the opening. day of the exhibition. For four young schoolboys it is a special thrill. They take turns in operating one of them
The boys are Timothy Frew, 15, of Southfields and Pat Farrell. 16, of Fulham. both Army cadets; Richard King of Chatsworth: and Ian Ransome. of Barnet, both from the Boys' Brigade The other Dalek is operated by actor Peter Murphy who also does it in real life for the BBC.
