The strike at the B.B.C. which has disrupted tele. on programmes and production fa the past week, ended to-day when unions accepted a peace plan.
More than 400 staff at the B.B.C's scenery departments in London were returning work immedately, and and production was expected to resume normally.
Programmes like The Two Ronnies The Des O'Connor Show, Grandstand and Parkinson, which could have been hit by the dispute this week-end, will go ahead as planned.
The peace plan was worked out at a nine-hour meeting between the two unions involved—the Associstion of Broadcasting Staff and National Association of Television, Theatre and Kine Employees—and the BBC at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service office
Despite the return to work, two more editions a the popular chddren's programme Jackanory were lost to-day. Planned episodes of Dr. Who and the BBC's current major project—the £2,400,000 series on the Life of the Borgias have to be recorded later.
The peace plan will mean the unions and the B.B.C. having talks to work out a code of practice covering staff in the scenery department.
