LOUISE JAMESON is giving up demolishing Daleks and mauling Space monsters.
She makes her final appearance tonight as Leela—the sexy but savage side-kick of Dr. Who —in Part Six of "The Invasion of Time" (B B C-1, 6.25 p.m.).
Louise, the Doctor's ninth assistant, has quit the role she held for fifteen months for the theatre.
Her fans will miss her — none more than Simon Allen, stage doorkeeper at the Bristol theatre where Louise is currently rehearsing her part in "A View From The Bridge," by Arthur Miller.
"I give Louise her post every morning. I must be the luckiest man in England," he says.
"I became a fan the minute I saw her on 'Dr. Who.'"
Louise who, between rehearsals, is appearing in Arnold Wesker's "Roots" at another Bristol theatre, says: "Playing Leela got me lots of letters. People wrote saying things like 'You are my favourite savage.'"
