Is there a doctor in the house?
THE world's most famous doctor travelled in his tardis to attend the grand opening of Blackpool's latest attraction... The Alien Connection Exhibition.
Colin Baker, who played Dr Who in the BBC television programme between 1983 and 1986, officially opened the exhibition to the public in time for the Easter break.
The new centre aims to answer some of the unexplained mysteries of the universe and draws on the work of experts both past and present.
It tackles issues about alien life forms, crop circles, psychic healing, intergalactic federations, ghosts and spirit guides and many other topics often overlooked.
There are over 50 full size replicas of aliens, a flying saucer, information about ancient monuments and fascinating insights into incidents such as Roswell and Area 51.
Colin Baker said: "I am interested in anything and keep an open mind.
"I find conspiracy theories hard to get to grips with, but my experience of life is that the people who are supposed to behind the theories are completely inept - if UFOs were discovered they would try to keep it from us, but probably fail!"
This was not Colin's first visit to Blackpool. He has been guest of honour at the Illuminations and at the Doctor Who exhibition.
Support
Brought up in Rochdale, Colin and his brother used to cycle to Blackpool during the summer, and his family regularly stayed in Cleveleys and Bispham
Colin gave his full and urged the new attraction support to residents and holiday-makers to take a trip into the unknown.
He said: "If your mind is not closed and you care about the planet, and if you believe that it's arrogant to assume that in the great scheme of things we are the only ones, then you might find a few questions answered at this exhibition, and you might leave with some questions to be answered."
David Boyle, the man behind the exhibition, said: "The experience is a combination of education and entertainment.
"It is about getting people to look further than their noses and to look beyond what we are told, as there is more than we know about.
"It gives people the opportunity to think about things in a different light and to have their minds open."
The exhibition on the promenade is open seven days a week from 9.30am to 6pm in the season. Tickets cost £5.95 for adults, £3.50 for children and a family ticket for four people costs £17.50.
