[edit]

FORMER Dr Who star Jon Pertwee is set to live up to his character's powers - by coming back from the dead.

The actor who died earlier this year is returning to play the role thanks to the magic of radio.

Dr Who - The Ghosts Of N Space (Tue, Dec 17, Radio 2, 8.30pm) is a repeat broadcast but for devotees is another chance to hear the original team from the hit sci-fi classic of the 70s brought together again for this six-part series.

Elisabeth Sladen plays The Doctor's assistant, Sarah Jane Smith and Nicholas Courtney is The Brigadier.

The series was written by Barry Letts - Jon Pertwee's original producer - thus ensuring that all the classic ingredients are well and truly in place.

The story involves The Brigadier deciding to take a break from combating alien invasions to visit his Uncle on a remote Italian island somewhere in the Mediterranean. However, what promises to be a rest soon proves otherwise as the local Mafia try to hustle the Brigadier and his uncle off their property but why?

To make matters worse, legend has it that the island is haunted, a story .hat soon proves to be more than just a mere fairytale. It is time to call for The Doctor....!
