LONDON, Thursday (AAP). — Peter Davison who stars as Tristan Farnon in television's 'All Creatures Great and Small', is to be the new Doctor Who when Tom Baker leaves the program next year.
He will be the fifth and youngest doctor since the program began in 1963. Producer John Nathan Turner said, "Peter is an ideal actor for the role. He has the right combination of light humour. drama and realism, is very popular with children and has a large following with female viewers".
He will be joined by another new face in the program — Australian actress Janet Fielding, 23, who will play a character called Tegan.
