DOCTOR WHO companion Bradley Walsh has spoken of his "pride" to be working with the first female to take the lead role.
Actress Jodie Whittaker, 35, is taking over from Peter Capaldi, 59, to become the 13th Doctor Who. Walsh, who will join a group of new companions when the show returns next year, said: "Well I think it's brilliant. I think it's great that it's a female doctor. I'm very privileged and proud to be part of it."
The 57-year-old host of The Chase revealed his secretive script reading. Before passing a scanner in a room, he was given a script with his name embossed in gold on an envelope. "You've never seen anything like it," he said.
