DR. WHO fans are about to storm the hallowed corridors of the ABC.

Well, that's the impression I get following the disappearance of Dr. Who from Aunty's week-night line-up.

I've been inundated with calls from very dedicated — and very angry — followers of the science-fiction fantasy who want to know why the show has been taken off.

And, according to an ABC spokesman, irate fans also have complained to the ABC.

The spokesman said: "It's as if it's a national crime."

The beleaguered chap hastened to explain that the ABC had run out of Dr. Who episodes — but there will be more coming.

He said: "We've contracted to get the new series from the BBC, and we should be able to screen it early next year."

All that's well and fine Aunty, but what about those long, hot summer months in between?

Gadzooks, Dr. Who is one of your most popular programs (and let's face it, they're few and far between).

You screened repeat episodes earlier this year — how about pulling some strings to whack on more of the same?

Diehard Dr. Who fans demand it.
