I am really fed up with the way the BBC and Radio Times have treated one of their most popular and famous programmes of the past 26 years. What am I referring to? Doctor Who (Wednesdays BBC1) of course.
No other drama or sci-fi programme is as universally loved and has been running as long as Doctor Who. So why this shoddy treatment by the BBC? No features of great importance in the new season Radio Times, bar a small article about Ace in the children's section.
Doctor Who is not a children's programme - it is made in the drama department of the BBC, not the children's - and should not be treated as such. It also has the more adult time slot of 7.35pm on a weekday.
