WHAT: KERA-TV Whofest '90

WHEN: Reception Friday, 8 to 10 p.m.; Whofest Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Harvey Hotel, 14315 Midway Road, Addison.

ADMISSION: Tickets for separate reception with Dr. Who (Colin Baker) and Terry Nation (creator of Blake's 7) will be $50 ($40 for KERA members). Whofest: $15 for one-day pass ($10 for members); $25 for two-day pass ($20 members). For information, call KERA, 871-1390. Tickets also will be sold at the hotel during the festival.

Dr. Who buffs and other sci-fi folks: Dig out that long muffler and the jacket with the funny lapels; slip into those white patent boots and teeny miniskirt. KERA-TV's Whofest '90 will give fans a chance to dress up and meet Colin Baker (Dr. Who No. 6, at left), as well as British science fiction writer/lecturer Terry Nation. Dr. Who, in case you don't know, is the hero of the long-running BBC science fiction series reprised by KERA-TV at 10 p.m. on Saturdays. On the Whofest agenda are autograph sessions, a celebrity auction and raffle, non-stop screenings of vintage Dr. Who episodes, talks by both BBC celebs, and paraphernalia for sale or swap. In addition, a costume contest will feature silly get-ups in eight categories: Best doctor (look-alike), best companion, best villain, best future doctor, best child, best media (non-Dr. Who), best original fantasy/sci-fi, and best of show. Here, help me tie this phone booth to my Honda. At left, Colin Baker is up to his neck in danger.
