DR WHO and the Daleks are coming to Weston-super-Mare this weekend.

They will be at the resort's Winter Gardens on Saturday and Sunday.

Doctor Who - Event One is being staged by the resort's Burgess Enterprises and PP Productions.

The star of the show will be Colin Baker, who played the sixth television incarnation of the famous Time Lord. He will be joined by his on-screen assistant Peri, alias actress Nicola Bryant.

Other familiar faces from the world of Doctor Who appearing over the weekend include Elizabeth Sladen, who played Sarah Jane Smith, the companion of both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker's Doctors.

The companion from the very first Doctor Who episode of 1963, Carole Ann Ford, who played the Doctor's grand-daughter Susan, will also be appearing.

And one of the most popular long-running Doctor Who characters, the Brigadier, alias Nicholas Courtney, will be making a personal appearance.

Some of Dr Who's most infamous enemies will also be there, including the Daleks and the Cybermen. Visitors at the weekend will be able to buy raffle tickets for the chance to win their own, full-size Dalek.

There will be a host of special events, involving laser effects, merchandise stalls and memorabilia.
