AT last the BBC has seen sense and agreed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Britain's favourite sci-fi show, Dr Who, by screening the classic Planet Of The Daleks.
It stars one of the programme's best doctors, Jon Pertwee, who is back at the controls with his delightful assistant Jo Grant—played by Katy Manning.
Together they face the Time Lord's arch enemy, the Daleks, after crash-landing on their planet.
Earlier this year insiders claimed the Beeb was about to shelve plans to celebrate Dr Who's 30th birthday.
But now it is giving the six-part series its best shot yet by slotting it into a prime-time slot.
While it will have a tough time exterminating Coronation Street's ratings, fans will love this series because it contains more Daleks than you can shake a sonic screwdriver at.
The only person who won't be pleased to see the Daleks return is their real-life creator Terry Nation.
He first invented the evil creatures in 1963 but says their popularity made it impossible for him to dream up a monster that would be even more terrifying.
