Sun finds axed K9
DR Who's faithful robot sidekick K9 has been found by The Sun . . at a dogs' home.
But sadly for fans of the metal pooch, our discovery does NOT mean he will appear in the Time Lord's new series, which starts this Saturday.
Instead he will stay at the Dogs Trust home in Ilfracombe, Devon, which snapped him up at a Beeb auction four years ago.
Ironically, the home is for abandoned mutts.
K9 was the time traveller's companion from 1977 to 1981, when the Doctor was played by Tom Baker with assistant Leela — actress Louise Jameson,
Dr Who fan Derek Hambly, of sci-fi store Tenth Planet, said: "K9 was popular as he added lots of humour. It's barking mad he's not in the new series.
"And I'm amazed he's in Devon. He was last seen on the planet Gallifrey."
The home has restored K9 so his lights flash and his head moves. They use him to promote their work.
The Beeb confirmed K9 will stay in the doghouse.
They said: "We're keen to take things forward."
