Late night movies and the children's series "Sesame Street" top the list of member-supported programs on public TV-44, according to results of the December public awareness campaign, "Holidays '82," 'which concluded recently.

According to Dr. John E. Walsh, WVIA president, 2,626 new and renewing members pledged a total of $127,802, an increase of 13.5 percent over last year's "Holidays '81."

Late night films continue to result in outstanding membership enrollment, securing $20,394 inpledges. Prime time movies also fared well with Becket, Casablanca and The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. each raising over 2,500 in pledges.

"Sesame Street" and "Mr. Rogers" drew $16,025 for daily and weekend broadcasts, indicating the importance of educational children's programming to parents.

Leo Buscaglia specials again brought in substantial financial support, totaling nearly $7.000. The Luciano Pavarotti Christmas special earned $6,460. A surprise campaign hit was Bob Vila's "This Old House" series raising 85,685.

Most public affairs series and performance specials drew heavy viewer support "Weather World," "The Nightly Business Report" and "Doctor Who" space fantasy series, each raised more than $4,000 in pledges.
