[edit]

THE BBC is being sued for £15 million after it allegedly backtracked on a deal to sell the rights to make three Dr Who films to a small production company.

Independent film company Daltenreys claimed that the BBC gave the film rights to Hollywood director Steven Spielberg instead.

A High Court writ has been issued against the BBC claiming loss of profits on the three films it had planned to make.

The BBC claimed Daltenreys had breached the agreement by taking so long to make the films and has 14 days to respond to the writ.
