ALIENS, vampires, secret agents and a Dalek share the display stands at an exhibition making its premier in the North-East from this weekend.

Top Secret is a themed collection or props, costumes and models from cult TV programmes and films, which feature secret agents, detectives, conspiracies and undercover organisations.

Among the popular films and programmes from which exhibits are drawn are Men in Black, the X-Files, Sherlock Holmes, Mission Impossible, James Bond, Thunderbirds, Dr Who and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The highlights include Men in Black aliens, Thunderbird figures and models, Doctor Who's Tardis and one of his Dalek adversaries, a vampire crypt and a Captain Scarlet figure.

All can be viewed over coming weeks at the Hancock Museum, in Barras Bridge, Newcastle, in an exhibition which opens today.

One of the unusual attractions will be an infra-red beam tunnel, challenging visitors to dodge the rays and reach the goal on the opposite side.

Top Secret runs until September 17. Admission is 3.20 for adults, 2 for children and concessions, and 9 for a family ticket of two adults and two children, with all under-fours guaranteed free entry.

The museum is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and between 2pm and 5pm on Sundays.
