A Dalek is coming to Cheddar

This weekend at the Cheddar Gorge a team of brightly clad youngsters, representing six schools, will be presenting the public with an opportunity to be generous for the benefit of 100,000 children and 200,000 adults who have epilepsy in this country today.
This is but one aspect of a major fund raising drive launched by the British Epilepsy Association. Altogether some 400 youngsters and a Dalek. from schools in different parts of the country will be devoting their summer holidays to fund raising efforts in some 25 towns.
Cheddar is the beginning of this major effort lasting until 8th September and extending from the West Country along the South Coast and closing on the East Coast.
During the following weekend, from July 12 to 15, the Daleks who, as every Dr. Who fan knows, have learnt the secret of time-travel, arc sending one of their number to meet holidaymakers at Cheddar Caves.
And instead of his usual occupation of extermination the Cheddar Dalek will he helping to raise money for charity.
The National Association of Voluntary Hostels, whose placement service finds accommodation for about 10,000 homeless people a year, have organised the event in conjunction with Teamwork, a group of young people, 16-18 year olds selected from various schools in the country, who have dedicated their summer holidays to fund-raising in various holiday resorts around the country.
