CHEEKY AMY TO BE MUM

SEXY companion Amy Pond will discover that she's pregnant in the new BBC series.

But it sparks a big Who-dun-nit mystery.

Newly-wed Amy (Karen Gillan, 23) can't wait to tell her husband Rory Williams the good news.

But the hapless sidekick (Arthur Darvill, 27) is far from happy.

He has serious doubts that the baby is his.

And Rory starts to grow suspicious that it's the Doctor (Matt Smith, 27) who's the daddy.

A show insider said: "Rory is convinced that he cannot be the father so he starts to look for suspects and top of the list is the Time Lord.

"Amy has been obsessed with the Doc ever since she met him as a child and started making her Raggedy Doctor dolls.

"She went off in the Tardis with him and left Rory behind.

"Rory is suspicious that maybe the pair got it on in the Tardis before he finally married Amy. The Doc, of course, denies it's him.

"It leads to a big 'Who's The Daddy' plotline." Others in the frame as the baby's father include painter Vincent Van Gogh (Tony Curran, 41). The Doc and Amy met him during the last series and Van Gogh was smitten and asked her to marry him.

On a lighter note, fans may even speculate that Amy might have had a secret fling with a Cyberman or a Dalek.

Who fans will recall Amy was pregnant in last year's show but that was a dream. This year, it's for real.

The new series of III Doctor Who begins in the spring.
