THE Daleks will do battle with Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord in the New Year's Day special of Doctor Who.
The new Doctor will face the show's most famous foe for the first time.
On New Year's Day, viewers will be treated to a new-look fleet of Daleks, who are expected to have ditched the bronze exterior they've worn since 2005.
Giving the Doctor's nemesis another chance to try to exterminate the human race in the TV special is likely to be a crowd-pleaser.
The last time fans saw them take on the Doctor was during Peter Capaldi's second series in 2015.
The New Year's Day special will be the only outing for Doctor Who in 2019, with a second series expected early in 2020.
