[edit]

The much-anticipated debut of Jodie Whittaker (above) as the first female Doctor on the timey-wimey adventure series Doctor Who drew plenty of Whovians to the October 7 premiere. The episode, which aired simultaneously on BBC America and BBC in the U.K., attracted 1.4 million U.S. viewers, up 48 percent from the Season 10 premiere (921,000 viewers). The good news continued with Episode 2, when the Thirteenth Doctor's redone TARDIS was revealed to 1.1 million fans. A friendly welcome indeed, Doctor!
