[edit]

DURING history lessons at Emscote Lawn School. Warwick, the boys have been playing with trains with the full permission of their teacher.

The boys have been making models of Stephenson's Rocket as Part of their study of transport in Regency times. This is part of the school's study of this period during the term and on Saturday it will culminate in a Regency Fair which will re-create the atmosphere and conditions of those days.

The proceedings will be started by the actor and comedian Jon Pertwee, who will appear dressed in his better known guise of Dr. Who.

Parents will join staff and boys in wearing period costume as they help with the 60 sideshows and stalls.

A special attraction will be a large hot-air balloon known as April Pool, which will be tethered in the school grounds.

The balloon cost a Coventry syndicate £1,650 and one of the members. Mr. David Winder, of 11, Chester Street. Coventry, said it cost £11 an hour to keep it flying.

In addition to the traditional games and sport there will be displays of Regency wines and dancing.
