A WEEKEND break in the Midlands for sci-fi buffs will be just what the doctor ordered.
Hundreds of fans of the long-running BBC drama series Dr Who will be attending the Panopticon convention on October 20-21 — along with two of the actors who have played their hero.
The current doctor. Sylvester McCoy, and the character's third incarnation. Jon Pertwee, will be guests of honour at the convention, to be held at the Hotel Leofric, Broadgate, Coventry.
Other big names front the show, which started in 1963, include Nicholas Courtney, who played Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and Sophie Aldred, who is Ace.
Vintage black and white footage from the '60s will be shown.
Anyone who would like further details about the event is asked to write to Panopticon 90. 17 Melrose Avenue. Wimbledon Park. London SW19 8BU.
