Neville Simons who starred in the television series, Dr Who, was battered to death by a man he invited into his home, the Old Bailey was told yesterday.
Mr Simons, 57, was found dying by police after receiving a telephone call from the killer, the court heard. Paul Cratchley, 23, a steel erecter, of Park Vista, Greenwich, pleaded not guilty to murder on Dec 20. He admitted manslaughter.
Mr Peter Clarke, prosecuting, said Cratchley told police he attacked Mr Simons when the actor made homosexual advances to him. The trial was adjourned until today.
