BRITAIN'S favourite Dr Who was mourned by a Who's Who of his old friends and time travellers yesterday.
Actor John Pertwee, who died of a heart attack last May at the age of 76, was remembered at a light-hearted service in Covent Garden, London, organised by the Grand Order of Water Rats.
Pertwee took over from Patrick Troughton in 1974 as the third Dr Who. The Doctor's former sidekicks Sophie Aldridge, Nicola Bryant and Elizabeth Sladen were among the famous faces at St Paul's Church.
Nick Courtney, who played Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in the series, told the congregation: "Our unfinished conversations must remain unfinished, unless on some distant galaxy."
Pertwee's actor son Sean, 31, said later: "It was wonderfully funny and irreverent - very much my father's cup of tea."
