Doctor Who (9 p.m., Chs. 23, 52) — This sci-fi series began in Britain the same week that John F. Kennedy was assassinated; more than 21 years later, the show is still going strong. Six actors have portrayed the good Doctor, but American viewers are most familiar with Tom Baker (the fourth actor to play Doctor Who), and are now becoming acquainted with his immediate successor, Peter Davison, here and on Channel 12. Tonight's special predates Baker's reign and introduces a third Doctor, Jon Pertwee, in "Spearhead From Space." This marks the American debut of this 1970 episode. For Doctor Who diehards, it's a must-see; for anyone else, it's a can-miss.
