Kate O'Mara

British TV thesp who starred in 'Dynasty'

Kate O'Mara, a British actress best known for playing glamorous yet tough villains, died March 30 in southern England after battling a short illness. She was 74. She is widely known for starring in long-running ABC soap "Dynasty" in the '80s, when she played the manipulative sister of Joan Collins' character. The thesp has a large following from her role on the original "Doctor Who," where she played the Rani.
