[edit]

FURIOUS Doctor Who fans plan a mass phone-in to demand the return of their hero to BBC-TV.

Up to 25,000 campaigners will each make 20 phone calls to the Beeb on Friday, November 11. The Time Lord, last played by Sylvester McCoy, was dropped from the schedules last year. BBC bosses are now working out the 27-year-old show's future.

Protest organiser John Jeffrey said yesterday: "Very few people now believe that the BBC has any intention of bringing back the programme.

We must show them that the people who pay their salaries have a say.

"Half a million phone calls cannot be ignored."
