★Resistance Is Useless BBC2: 6.50 pm Thunderbirds having made a triumphant return to the screen, why not Dr Who? In this programme, a prelude to a season that will feature the seven actors who played the illustrious Time Lord (the first follows immediately), there's a potted history of the doctor's adventures and a look at some of his opponents, including Daleks and Cybermen. Followed at 7.20 by Dr Who — The Time Meddler, the first episode of a 1965 adventure with William Hartnell in the title role. It's a time-slip story but if it's 1066 why is that monk in Northumbria wearing a wristwatch?
