MISSING-one blue police box, affectionately known as the Tardis.
A Dr Who convention, to be held at Amey Hall, Abingdon, may have to go ahead without its most famous trademark, the time-travelling Tardis.
Enthusiasts from around the world are expected to attend the September get-together, anxious to meet Doctor Whos past and present, their glamorous assistants, and the Daleks.
The series' producer John Nathen Turner said: "Regrettably we are not able to lend out the Tardis, it is against our policy."
Dr Who fanatic and organiser of the event Adrian Himpson, 16, is desperately trying to rectify the problem.
He said: "We will pay for the materials if someone can make a replica for us.
"I haven't missed an episode since the age of three. The Tardis is an important part of Dr Who."
