[edit]

There is talk of a new science fiction cable channel coming on the air this fall. If this is the case, will it affect the rights of Prairie Public to broadcast programs such as Doctor Who?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the rebroadcast of Blake's 7. The show is quite interesting and fits in nicely with Doctor Who and "Star Trek: The Next Generation." The show is a nice compliment to both programs because it shows the dark side of "Star Trek: TNG" but some of the drama of both programs. It would be nice to see more Doctor Who adventures with William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee.

I have enjoyed both EastEnders and Emmerdale Farm. Is there any possibility of resuming Emmerdale in the fall? I would also like to see the return of All Creatures Great and Small. It would also be nice to see the original movie version of All Creatures with Simon Ward and Anthony Hopkins.

Keep up the good work because as the Doctor always says, "Travel broadens the mind." Prairie Public provides a great way to travel and see the world and discover new ideas inexpensively.

Our contract for the Blake's 7 and Doctor Who series runs out as of March 1993. At present we're not sure of the future of the science fiction programs. However, the series Survivors will air until March 1995. EastEnders is a favorite of many of our viewers. At this point we're not sure if PBS will bring back Emmerdale Farm this fall. We just don't have the viewership or support for the series.
