SCI-FI fans are in for a tearjerker when David Tennant bows out as the Time Lord. Show boss Russell T Davies, 45, says in the final of the four 2009 Doctor Who specials — when Tennant, 37, right, regenerates — viewers will be grabbing the hankies.
He said: "In the final story it's huge stuff, epic stuff. It's going to be heartbreaking." Meanwhile, there is more heartache when spin-off Torchwood returns to our screens. Lead actor John Barrowman, 41, far right, who plays Captain Jack Harkness, has teased that a major character is set to die.
Barrowman said: "Jack has to make a decision that no parent — that's a hint — should have to make."
Torchwood returns for a five-part series in the spring.
