AN EVIL-LOOKING galactic schoolmaster called Starstrider and his whacky assistant, Wart (pictured right), accompanied by their extraterrestrial bucking bronco, the Grunder Hunter, come down to Earth next week to host a children's quiz show that's literally out of this world.

Teams of Earthling children will battle their way through rounds of tough general-knowledge questions, with Starstrider and Wart demanding instant answers. Here's how it will work:

Round One: the teams race through a library full of books to try and supply their waiting team Starstrider's commanders with the answers to questions.

Round Two: team commanders sit in solitary state, 'under maximum pressure', and are tested on their general knowledge.

Round Three: the pace hots up as team members try to remember such posers as 'What does STD stand for?' and 'Who wrote The Count of Monte Cristo?' while sitting astride the gruesome Grunder Hunter as it threshes around.

Round Four: the teams play a monster game of blind man's buff wearing Cyberman helmets. Then a final general knowledge session completes the quiz.
