There's lots of stuff in tonight's DOCTOR WHO (6.45pm, BBC One) that I'm sworn to secrecy about. Quite right, too, of course. If I were to blurt out significant plot details in advance, thus spoiling a show that millions have been looking forward to, the BBC would be well within their rights to have me exterminated. (They actually tried to do that once before, after I'd said something mildly sarcastic about EastEnders, but we managed to settle out of court). Since the episode is called Revolution Of The Daleks, however, I'm allowed to say it's got Daleks in it. And the "Revolution" bit offers a fairly hefty hint that they're not playing nice.

Trouble is, the last time we saw the Doctor she was banged up in space jail, incarcerated by the Judoon (if you've ever been incarcerated by the Judoon, you know how painful that can be). So will she be able to break out, whizz back and see off this latest threat to the human race? Or will she be forced to stay put and deal with it all remotely, possibly by scheduling a series of Zoom meetings?

Meanwhile, companions Yaz, Ryan and Graham remain clueless as to the Doctor's whereabouts (it's not so much Doctor Who, then, as Doctor Where, ha ha). And even the return of John "Jazz Hands" Barrowman's Captain Jack doesn't entirely convince them all will be well.

Elsewhere, Jenna Coleman, someone else with Tardis experience, plays a serial killing conman's accomplice in BBC One's new 70s-set drama THE SERPENT (9pm).
