California A Dalek is expected to fetch thousands of pounds at auction this month even though it is only a foot high. The miniature foe of Doctor Who, played at the time by Colin Baker, was made for an episode in 1985 and should have been destroyed. Chris Balcombe, a Doctor Who collector from Southampton, who once owned the model, said it was made for a scene where a dalek was exterminated. But in the end it was destroyed by using a TV pixelation effect.
