The Five Doctors, the specia1 90-minute "Dr. Who" adventure on BBC-1 next Friday, will be a feast of nostalgia and star-spotting for long-standing fans of the world's longest-running TV science fiction series.
The story features all four of the surviving actors who have played Dr. Who on television—Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Peter Davison—and Richard Hurndall made up to look like the original doctor, the late William Hartnell.
Also appearing: Carole Ann Ford, who played the Doctor's granddaughter Susan in the very first series in 1963; Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Anthony Ainley as The Master.
K-9, the robot dog in the Tom Baker days, and Bessie, the vintage car belonging to the Jon Pertwee version, are also involved.
"The Five Doctors is transmitted exactly 20 years and two days after the first-ever "Dr. Who" episode. The sixth Doctor in the TV series, Colin Baker, takes over in January.
