[edit]

How interesting that the first appearance of the Daleks in Doctor Who should be voted the most popular moment in British TV drama history. This, it may be recalled, comes just a couple of years after the series was voted best drama at the BBC 60 celebrations.

With the new season's schedules looking as uninspiring and unimaginative as ever, maybe the corporation might like to consider de-mothballing that old police box and press-ganging a certain renegade Time Lord back into service. After all, it's about time ...

There are no plans for a new series, but a possible feature film is under discussion. In the meantime, on 13 November BBC2 will broadcast Doctor Who Night, celebrating the Time Lord and his foes.
