What have they done to our Doctor Who? Where is the BBC sandpit? Where are the wobbling sets and the flight deck of the Tardis that looked like an ill-equipped recording studio? After seven years' absence. Doctor Who returns, metamorphosed into Paul McGann, and set in San Francisco on 31 January, 1999. A significant date, though as any Time Lord should tell you, the a millennium does not begin until the year 2001. This feature-length adventure is fast-paced and entertaining but is pure Hollywood with bits that remind you a Raiders of the Lost Ark, bits from The Terminator, bits from ER. The doctor's dilemma is that the planet will be sucked through the Eye of Harmony at midnight, unless he can get his hands on an atoimic clock. His accomplice is surgeon Grace Holloway (Daphne Ashbrook) and arch enemy The Master is played by Eric Roberts.
