NOT ONLY is it outrageous that the BBC is taking Dr Who off our TV screens for 18 months, it is also highly dangerous. Who (I mean us, not the Doctor) can doubt that the Daleks, Cybermen and the Master will seize this opportunity to conquer the Universe.
The decision is especially ill-timed as the suspense had reached particularly acute stage. It will he intolerable to have to wait another 18 months to discover whether the tightly knotted shirt at the Doctor's assistant, Peri, will be able to restrain her ample bosom for a furtheraction-packed episode.
