CYRIL, a bespectacled fat boy whom TV viewers though looked like Billy Bunter's double, has got the B.B.C. into trouble. And as a character in two episodes of Dr. Who, he didn't even squirt ink or steal someone else's tuck. BUT with those tight check trousers, huge bow tie, and yelps of "Yarroo," he did appear and act remarkably like the "Owl of the Remove."

So much that the B.B.C. have apologized the to the estate of Frank Richards, which looks after interests of the late author, after viewers had protested that Billy Bunter was never as nasty as Cyril.

SO SORRY

An announcer made the apologies after the Dr. Who programme on Saturday night. Explained a spokesman: The only likeness was in their clothes-there was never any intention that Cyril should be taken for Billy Bunter."

CYRIL, after several caddish tricks, met a very un-Bunterlike end-he was electrocuted while playing a life or death game with Dr. Who's two companions.
