[edit]

DOCTOR WHO is to make a hi-tech comeback on the BBC after 10 years.

A $5 million TV movie made by one of Steven Spielberg's producers is to go into production in three months, it was revealed in Edinburgh yesterday.

Filming starts in Vancouver on 20 November and Dudley Moore and Alan Rickman have both been tipped to play the time lord.

Executive producer Philip Segal is expected to dispense with the creaky special effects in favour of state-of-the-art wizardry.
