THERE'S A poignant touch to tonight's Zoo Gang (STV 7.30). It's the last appearance of Roger Delgado, one of those TV faces you kept seeing in a variety of villainous roles.
Mr Delgado was killed almost immediately after completing the episode. His car crashed while he was bring driven to a film location in Turkey. Ironically he had just started work after a serious internal operation.
Inevitably he plays man on the run from the police El Leon, a revolutionary who is embarrassing the French police. He is arrested by the policeman son of Mauouche Roget (Lilli Palmer adding a touch of class to routine telly adventure), and the Zoo Gang take it upon themselves to have him rescued as he is a popular figure in what is called the free world.
Leo Genn plays a government official and there is a chance for John Mills to do Clive Dunn, and display his skill as a character actor by disguising himself as an elderly earl.
