[edit]

It obviously takes someone as devious as the Master to work in the BBC press office because my preview copy of this episode didn't feature the regeneration. So, even if I wanted to, I can't reveal who we get to see or what they say. Not that I'm allowed to tell you much about the preceding 89 minutes, either, as I had to sign a non-disclosure form long enough to clog the Tardis data bank.

So, what can I say about Jodie Whittaker's exit? There are Daleks, Cybermen, an appearance by Rasputin, plus Sacha Dhawan back as the aforementioned Master.

Oh, and guest roles for Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred, on screen again as Tegan and Ace. And it's this aspect that gives you an idea as to how things tie into the BBC's centenary, as what we get is not just a final bow for the 13th Doctor, but a celebration of the "classic" era, too. There's a lot to cram in but, thanks to the casting decisions, it's the fans whose interest was sparked in the 80s who reap the most rewards.
