I was eagerly anticipating the first episode in the new series of Doctor Who, but was disappointed by the over-the-top "humour" and the naffest zombies I'd ever seen. But episode two (22 April) was-edge-of-the-seat stuff. Move over, Judi Dench — Pauline Collins gave the feistiest portrayal of Queen Victoria I've seen, and the werewolf special effects were the equal of anything in movies.

I read that our current Queen watches Doctor Who, so I'd love to know what she made of the Doctor's theory that [because the werewolf bit Queen Victoria and "infected" her] the whole royal family now plan their trips around full moons!

In RT (29 April), Doctor Who model man Mike Tucker said K-9's interior workings "should look a bit more as if they'd been designed by a Time Lord and less like radio spares!"

I have to point out that K-9 was built not by the Doctor, but by an Earth scientist called Professor Marius (on Titan) who gave K-9 to him as the professor was returning to Earth and weight restrictions prevented him taking K-9 with him.
